Club Competitions

There are three categories, monochrome print, colour print and projected image.

Images:

  • May only be entered once;
  • A new image is required for each competition;
  • That have been used in last season’s league competition’s may not be used again;
  • From the club exhibition that were NOT used in last seasons league competition’s may be entered this season.
  • From the club exhibition that were NOT used in last seasons league competition’s may be entered this season.
  • Converting an image that has already been entered in competition to a different category for the purpose of re entry is not allowed (i.e. from colour to monochrome or projected image etc.).
  • Members may enter one image only in each of the three media categories = Max three entries per member.

Workshop photos:

  • Any images taken on a Wednesday workshop night within the club schedule will not be allowed into any club competitions e.g. league, panel, exhibition, John Thorpe nature etc.,

Duplicate photos:

  • Images taken in the same sequence and of a similar/same scene/type are not permitted entry into league competitions more than once in any year. The competition secretary’s decision is final.

Printed images

  • Are to be mounted (flush mounted only please, no window mounts) on 20” x 16” mount boards (available from The Treasurer).
  • They must be CLEARLY marked on the rear top left hand corner,
  • with the month;followed by the letter indicating the members grade (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced)

    followed by the members club PIN no;and the title of the image;

    e.g. SEPTEMBER N 123 “TITLE”

  • There should be no other indication as to the authors identity.

Projected Images:

  • Should be as large as possible to allow for possible use in future competitions.
  • Projected images should be in .jpeg format should have the members grade and PIN indicated on them. See 11 also.
  • Projected images for the 2016/17 season are themed as ‘Open’ and so do not need to follow the set competition theme.
  • Projected images should be as large as possible to allow for possible use in external competitions. This will allow images to be printed should they be chosen by the selection committee.

All entries MUST be submitted on the appointed hand in night.

Judges decisions with regard to points awarded are final
