If you wish to take photographs of nesting bird-life in Ireland, you will need a license. You will need to contact the National Parks and Wildlife Services (NPWS) as they are the licensing and legislative body concerned. You can call their head office on 01 888 2000. They have also recently launched their new kids magazine which is available as part of the family or group membership. Bird Detectives is bursting with information, quizzes and competitions and will go out twice a year.
