A message from Martin

Hi All,

Just to let you know that I’m still here (in hospital) till tomorrow, as I need to be able to walk to the front door and back before they let me escape.

Can you please convey my thanks to all who signed the card which Trudy & Tony (Stafford) brought in on Saturday. It brought a smile to my face reading all the comments and good wishes.

And just to show you cant’ keep a good man down, Martin closed the email by saying:

As I dont have access to my email here can you remind Trudy that black plastic bags and masking tape will be needed to black out some of the windows in the hall for Saturday’s Print & Projected image competition.

Thanks again,
Martin

BioBlitz 2011 – Results

For those few interested members who turned up at some of the BioBlitz 2011 events in Waterstown Park this Fri/Saturday gone, you maybe interested in knowing the results.

In competition with some very large national parks of Ireland, Waterstown competed well and recorded an excellent 687 species, which is an incredible total for an urban park.

Well done to Killarney National Parks who are the champions. Over the course of the 24 hours they amassed a massive 1088 species – double the number achieved by last year’s champions.

In second place was The Raven with 826 species. Ballycroy was a small bit back with 702 species. Then Dromore just avoided being last by recording just a single species more than Waterstown.
